A large brochure site for this Lake District hotel. Design went through several variations before settling on this one. I worked on every aspect of the site from initial client discussions and concepts through to CMS integration and pre launch. The richly textured backgrounds are inspired by the elaborate interior design of the hotel's rooms.
This small hotel site is the result of several months of client consultation and detailed styling. It started life with a very different theme but gradually made its way to the final combination of floral patterns and blue tones. The project was put on hold for nine months whilst professional photography was commissioned for the slide shows on every page.
Pure Leisure Group needed a speedy overhaul of this site for their prestigious Barbados leisure estate. Commissioned as the first in a set of eight for the group to use the same template. Time was spent on creating a robust CSS framework and editable regions for offers and testimonials.
"Needs to expand over time as content is added" was the brief, Oh - and make it look a little "Different". I worked with 3D renderings from architects to create a background for this clean and fresh design. The map uses Google Maps API and performs predetermined actions to show users the area's location.
A fledgling booking system required a modern and unique UI design to see it out of beta stage. I spent two weeks in total creating concepts and then implementing advanced CSS and Ajax techniques to arrive at the finished product. The site is still under development and at present is only operating regionally.
For this medium sized corporate site I worked directly with the Group's CEO to ensure my vision for the site matched that of the board. Designing multilevel navigation to enable browsers to reach any page from any other regardless of section was a key challenge. The site is also built to strict accessibility standards.
This small brochure site features a plain and simple stock list with light-box galleries and content managed galleries for each vehicle. The theme is kept to a minimal metallic style as the site sells both classic and modern cars.
Drawing inspiration from the textile choices of the interior design I attempted to convey a sense of luxury in this site for this group of Award Winning 4 & 5 star holiday lets. High quality photography sets the scene and speaks the value of the location enough to let the website be simple and hence a two column layout with text and calls to action suffices.
To avoid any conflict with the company name I chose a black and white artistic design that would allow the videos and stills to sell themselves. The simplicity of the black and white and avoidance of any other colours in the design ensured that both sides of this corporate and wedding videographer's business were sold in a mutual setting.
Updating the online image for this 75 year old family owned refurbishment firm proved an interesting challenge. Steel and grey tones set the base for the company's yellow and white branding. Deciding to leave blue out of the design stood the website out from the real-world branding and gives the site a high quality feel, the blue of the branding was included through the photography.
